Wedding bread and winter kitchens
Food is one of the few inheritances that still travels intact — if someone writes the steps down.
A wedding in Tel Tammer was never only a hall and a dress. It was days of bread, trays, neighbors in and out of a courtyard, and a list of who must be visited first.
Winter kitchens held another calendar: preserves, burghul, the smell of wood when the electricity failed. Recipes survive in diaspora kitchens, slightly changed by new markets, still named for the town.
Families will be able to attach a recipe or a feast memory to their page. This note marks the kitchen and festival calendar the archive hopes to keep.
